PREPARATION OF A QUESTION PAPER
Preparation of a good question paper requires proper planning. Certain guide¬lines are suggested below. The question paper has to be planned on a multi dimensional basis, the dimensions are -
i) objectives to be tested
ii) content to be covered
iii) types of questions to be used
iv) number of items to be included
The last two factors are interdependent. The number of questions must depend upon the kinds of questions to be used. Having decided on the number of questions of different type, those questions must be apportioned among the objectives and also the content area. This can be carried out by preparing a table of specification.
