Prognosis:
Much depends upon the size, position of the fibroids and complications in pregnancy. Many a time no complications may occur. The prognosis can be grave if proper treatment is not carried out in pregnancy and labour where fibroids do give rise to symptoms or’cause dystocia.
The fetal prognosis is often adversely affected-because of the increased risks of abortion, pre-mature labour and dystocia due to fibroids.
As a rule it is wise not to interfere with the fibroid, unless a definite indication is present. Nor-mally the fibroids undergo remarkable involution after delivery. An attitude of watchful expectancy is most desirable in such cases and seldpm is interference indicated during pre-gnancy
