This is a condition characterised by generalised erythema and scaling. The common causes of exfoliative dermatitis are skin diseases like psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, pityriasis rubra pilaris, Norwegian scabies and chronic eczematous dermatitis with autosensitisation.
